SCC Global Outreach is using the following strategies to address the many questions, phone calls, messages, and emails we are receiving about the ongoing tragedy in Haiti:
We are consolidating contact information on appropriate professionals to be a part of the huge ongoing, outreach to Haiti in the coming weeks and months. Our intention is to be in this effort for the long haul. Based on what we know about Haiti as well as what we learned from the Indonesian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, there will be months of relief efforts necessary to minimize further deaths.
There is an online sign up form for this and sign sheets at each of our four campus locations.
Heidi Thomson (hthomson@savannahchristian.com) is the point person here at the church and Patti Emfinger (pattisav@comcast.net) is our medical missions liaison.
We are encouraging financial contributions which can be made in two ways: by check to SCC designating “Operation Haiti Hope” or by going on line to savannahchristian.com and clicking on the “Give” tab.
Anyone with connections for medicines or medical supplies should give us their contact information at www.sccgo.com.
We are asking all followers of Jesus to pray.
-
For help finding and caring for the victims in Port-au-Prince.
-
For protection over the relief workers. There is currently an increased element of lawlessness in the area as well as a threat of continuing aftershocks.
-
For the survival for thousands of people in the rural areas of Haiti who counted on relatives with jobs in Port-au-Prince to help them financially.
-
For Christ’s love to shine in mercy and for Satan’s strongholds to lose ground.
-
For God to be glorified in all efforts.
